CGB Welcomes Carcar City Lakbay Aral Delegates

The City Government of Batac (CGB) headed by the City Mayor, Honorable Jeffrey Jubal C. Nalupta welcomed the city officials, employees and barangay officials from the City of Carcar, Province of Cebu, headed by its City mayor, Honorable Nicepuro Apura, during their Lakbay Aral to Ilocos Norte and Ilocos Sur on March 8-10, 2012.

The delegation from Carcar City visited Batac’s City Hall to meet and get to know the city officials and department heads of the CGB during its first day of Lakbay-Aral to the city.

Batacqueño’s hospitality, culture and best practices were manifested as city tourism officer designate Mrs. Merlyn T. Gorospe and her assistant Mr. Joemar Ordonia toured the delegates to the sprawling seven-hectare government center.  Carcar City delegates passed by the Mariano Marcos Memorial Hospital and Medical Center; site of the proposed cultural center of Batac which is a little version of the Cultural Center of the Philippines, at the Bagsakan Area; the on-going construction of the Congresswoman’s Mothering Center; and the different government agencies like the Land Transportation Office, Department of Science and Technology, Land Registration Authority, Justice Hall, Central Bank of the Philippines and the Philippine Postal Corporation.

The Senior Citizens Building, KALIPI Function Hall and the Batac Public Market, key projects of the local government unit of Batac were also showcased to the delegates.  The Onyx Poultry and Dressing Plant and the Small Water Impounding Project, both located in Barangay Magnuang; the newly constructed Barangay Hall of Barangay Baay; City Health Office facilities and the soon to open Batac Maternal and Child Health Care  Hospital were also showed to them.

A short program and a simple dinner were rendered for the delegates in the front activity area of the Imelda Cultural Center.  In the speech of the City Mayor of Carcar, he expressed his gratitude for the City of Batac for the warm welcome and hospitable treatment given to them.  He said that Carcar City’s Lakbay Aral to the City of Batac is the best Lakbay Aral it had.  This was reiterated by the Department Heads and Barangay Captains of Carcar City during their visit to Barangay Magnuang SWIP.

Carcar City’s Lakbay Aral to Batac is one of Carcar City’s ways to foster its sisterhood relationship with Batac.  On January of this year, the City Officials of Batac went to Carcar City for the signing of its Sisterhood Agreement with Carcar City.
